You will need to do a clear and delete everything after installing it in your Tivo.  Do not just do a restart or reset when you get a hardware failure but a complete clear and delete everything to sync this drive to your Tivo.  After doing the guided setup press the Tivo button select Messages and Settings, select Restart or Reset, select Clear and Delete Everything.  This process will usually take about an hour or more to complete.
