The Seymour Duncan Custom Shop High Voltage Humbucker Set was originally designed for a certain Australian guitarist who wrote the book on explosive classic rock riffing. This set of pickups is voiced to deliver the clarity and tone of a vintage PAF-style pickup with a tone that cuts a bit harder. Their Alnico II magnets imbue the Custom Shop High Voltage Set with just the right amount of sonic firepower for great rock tones. And the High Voltage Humbucker Set boasts lightly aged nickel covers that are resistant to sweat corrosion.
Hard Rock Tone with a Vintage Flavor
The Seymour Duncan Custom Shop High Voltage Humbucker Set features an undeniably vintage PAF-style character, with all the clarity, punch, and detail that entails. But these humbuckers have been voiced to roll off a bit of the low end to ensure you get the most cut and aggressive edge as you possibly can. You'll find they share a similar tonal character to Seymour Duncan's Pearly Gates humbucking pickups, with a bluesier voice that is perfect for driving a wall of cranked amplifiers.
Alnico II Magnets
The Alnico II magnets used in the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop High Voltage Humbucker Set are the same type of magnets used in the original humbucking pickups. The material's sweet tone and musical detail make it extremely popular with Sweetwater guitarists. And the magnets in these pickups have been specially calibrated for an even response across both pickups. You'll find a DC resistance of 7.6k in the neck humbucker and a slightly hotter rating of 8.6k in the bridge pickup.
