    Description

This is a  5" x 3.5" standard 1950s metal file box labeled "Covey's Library Receipts" from the estate of longtime JPL employee, Robert E. Covey, who headed up the wind tunnel project in the 1950s and spent 44 years contributing to a multitude of JPL/NASA missions and projects.
The box contains everything in the photos and MUCH MORE I was unable to capture in the alloted 12 eBay photos. Primarily this was his filing system for receipts issued upon returning borrowed classified/top secret documents (approximately 60 or so slips that are dated early 1950s to late 1960s) but given the span of his career and the various other items (business cards from various Aerospace colleagues, missed phone call slips, among many others) it seems likely that the contents were edited down and set aside specifically as mementos that bore some specific significance. A joy to behold for the right historian to be sure!
