    Description

    This is an OAFGSS which means Orbiter Aft Fuselage Gas Sample System.
    This would have been mounted in the aft engine compartment of the space shuttle. There would have been gas canisters attached to this bracket which would sample gas build ups in the aft engine compartment.
    This item looks like it flew on many shuttle missions. There is a redesign part number. 3 part numbers on the item in all. It was used for a while then redesigned and eventually down graded to not for flight. The red markings and red tags indicate it was eventually scrapped.
    I won this several years ago bidding on a government auction lot.
    Could make a neat shelf on the wall for other space collectibles.
