Mercury astronaut Gordon Cooper is all smiles on the deck of the USS Kearsarge after his recovery from a day and a half in Earth orbit on May 15 & 16, 1963.  This an original USAF photo (#163) and has Press Release date of Friday May 17, 1963 to the media.  A real relic of the birth of manned spaceflight.  NASA photos like this are now considered Fine Art and sought by collectors.
