    This medallion was made by NASA from the actual metal of the Space Shuttle/Orbiter "ENTERPRISE" which was the first flown prototype of the Space Shuttle. This particular medallion commemorates the Approach and Landing Tests and shows the signatures of Haise, Fullerton, Engle and Truly  -  This is the very
    FIRST SPACE SHUTTLE MEDALLION
    issued by NASA in their limited edition Manned Flight Awareness Series.
    The Reverse Side Inscription States:
    "Thank you for your contribution toward making the Approach and Landing Tests of the Space Shuttle Orbiter successful. We would like you to have this memento made, in part, of metal taken from the Enterprise."
