Description

This Apollo 15 lot includes three lithos of surface activities, and two photo reproductions of the flag salute and the crew next to the Lunar Rover. There is a cool lithograph reproduction of the lunar flag and thanks from the astronauts to employees of Kennedy Space Center. There are also two first day covers. One, a unique commemorative medal for Apollo 15 is embedded in a cardboard first day issue with August 2, 1971 KSC postmark on the double 8 cent Rover stamp. The other cover is cancelled on splashdown dated August 7. The Apollo 15 coin embedded in thick cardboard is a special commemorative medal promotion and is sought by collectors. NASA images are considered fine art to be displayed.
