*Up for sale here is a very scarce picture beer bottle, from the mill river town of Clairton, Pennsylvania, located in Allegheny County Pa. This pre pro example is in near perfect shape, glass is very clean, and has seen barely any wear. there is a slight partially open bubble on the bottle. See pictures. There is some minor inner patchy haze, which is non detracting. The bottle has no chips, pings or dings. The amber color is very nice on this hand blown pint beer. Bottle would date from 1902 to about 1910.
*It is nicely embossed on the bottle as it shows a nicely detailed picture of a stag deer. It reads ~ "MONONGAHELA VALLEY / Trade (deer motif) / Mark / BREWING CO. / CLAIRTON, PA."
The base is plain. On the lower reverse heel it has the Pittsburgh glass house initials "D.O.C. 285". There are different versions of the deer, which I have seen on their other bottles in the past. This handsome looking pint size example measures 9 3/4 inches tall, and 2 5/8 inches in diameter. You will be quite pleased with this piece of pre prohibition brewery history, from southwestern Pa.
