Description
For your consideration: an J. A. Ellingham / Millstone, NJ blob (champagne) beer. It was hand-blown in aqua glass batch into a two-part slug-plate mold in the 1880's. Finished with a hand-tooled blob finish. Millstone is in Somerset County, NJ along the west bank of the Millstone River and the Delaware - Raritan Canal. (Not to be confused with Millstone of Monmouth County.) This is a harder to get Millstone blob beer; J. E. Coyle is more regularly encountered. It is in very good dug condition with a substantial chip to the reverse side of the blob lip, as seen in the images. It displays well and has no other damage at all. No radiations - structurally stable. A real nice scatter of bubbles throughout the shoulder area. Crisp embossing in the slug-plate with a lovely and unique font " E " initial. It measures: 8 13/16" x 2 11/16".
