Description
This is a new (vintage) embroidered patch to commemorate the missions of the NASA Space Shuttle Endeavour. STS-99 was the last solo flight of the Space Shuttle Endeavour. Later flights by Endeavour were devoted to the International Space Station. This flight was commanded by veteran astronaut Kevin Kregel, and an international crew of five other astronauts. One of the astronauts (Mamoru Mohri) was from Japan's National Space Development Agency (NASDA) and another (Gerhard Thiele) represented the European Space Agency (ESA). STS-99’s mission was to map the Earth’s surface with 3D images, so it was dubbed “Earth Observation”.This awesome patch is large and it is very colorful. The background is light green with a dark green embroidered border. The rest of the patch is embroidered in light blue, dark blue, light green, white, red and black. There are cool-looking Japanese characters embroidered in red.
We are not sure of the age or origin of the patch – it came from a collection. See photo for size. Although the patch was not used, there may be a loose thread or two. Note that colors may vary from one computer monitor to the next. The patch pictured is the one you will get. For condition, please look at the photo, but this patch is new and in great shape.
Size: Patch is oblong and is approximately 5” wide.
