    Description

This is a new (vintage) embroidered patch to commemorate
    NASA’s Apollo 12
mission.  This was the sixth manned flight in the US Apollo program and the second to land on the Moon.  It was launched on November 14, 1969 from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.  The mission was flown by astronauts Charles "Pete" Conrad, Alan L. Bean and Richard F. Gordon.
This great patch is mostly blue and gold.  At the top,
    “APOLLO XII”
is embroidered in royal blue on a gold background.  In the center of the patch is a Yankee Clipper ship orbiting the moon’s surface.  The sailing ship represents the command module.  There is an American flag at the top of the ship’s mast (a little hard to see).  The astronauts felt the Yankee Clipper embodied the spirit of America, and the spirit of naval camaraderie, as well, since all three astronauts were originally navy men.
The patch pictured is just like the one you will get.  For condition please look at the photo, but this vintage patch is in great shape.  We are not sure of the age or origin of this beautiful patch – it came from a collection.  See photo for size.  Note that colors may vary from one computer monitor to the next.
    Size:
Almost 4” in diameter (actually about 3 7/8”).
