*Up for sale here is a very early and scarce blob top top beer bottle, from Toledo, Ohio. This hand blown example has the applied on old style of blob top. This would have taken the lightning bail top, which is long gone. Bottle is very clean, and was never tumbled. This example has seen barely any wear. Near perfect shape, with no chips, pings, dings or checks. Bottle looks to date from the from the 1880's era.
*It crudely reads in a circular slug plate ~ "HOPPE & STRUB / B. CO. / TOLEDO / OHIO." The crude pebbly base is plain. On the lower reverse heel it reads with the glass house initials ~ "E.H.E. CO. 50". This gutsy quart example measures 11 1/2 inches tall, and 3 1/2 inches in diameter. You will be well pleased with this early piece of pre pro history, from the state of Ohio.
