    Description

Offered for sale and just unpacked from a box that was packed away some 25-35 years ago comes this beautiful piece of Carnival Glass.  I identified this piece in the book "The Standard Encyclopedia of Carnival Glass" by Bill Edwards (copyright 1991- revised 3rd edition).  The manufacturer is the Dugan Glass Company and the pattern is "Grape Delight".  The color, which can be seen on the feet and looking from the inside of the bowl, is cobalt.  From the top outside, the bowl looks purple but as soon as you look inside (and at the feet), you can see that it is cobalt.  This nut bowl is described as "scarce" by Mr. Edwards.  It stands 4 1/4 inches tall and measures about 5 3/4 inches across the top.  The top is scalloped and the pattern on the outside is done in relief:  it features clusters of grapes and large leaves.  This is a heavy and unusually-shaped piece for Carnival Glass.  The conditon is GREAT with no chips, no cracks, no damage, no discoloration.  There are one or two straw marks inside of the piece.  This appears to be a 3-piece mold.  Please see the photos, check my feedback, and ask any questions before making a purchase.  You will love the color, pattern, and weight of this piece!
