This gorgeous array of iridescence colors on the sharp looking deep purple background glass bowl features frames on this pattern loop that around the flowers and radiate out from the center. Known only in dome-footed bowls and bowls that have been whimsied up enough to make a compote ..Most bowls are ruffled as this one is but some are tricornered
Approximate measurements are 9 inches rim diameter from two farthest ruffleand stands about 2.75 inches to 3.25 inches in height ..
Light signs of previous use should be expected consistent with age - free of chips, cracks, hairlines or restorations..Very nice Condition - This item may have the normal Vintage/Antique Carnival Glass anomalies present, such as straw marks, tool marks, slight spotting from the making in the finish, normal use shelf wear, small interior glass bubbles which are not broken or very slight seam or edge wear roughness to the touch, would not be considered as flakes nor fleabites...One rough area on purple collar base..
An excellent carnival piece to add to you collection!!
Outdoor and indoor pictures were taken for you to view on assorted backgrounds to show true, beautiful iridescence colors on the sharp looking deep purple background..Additional questions, please email me...
Thomas Dugan was a cousin of Harry Northwood - He came to America from England a few months prior to cousin Harry's arrival and began its history as the Indiana Glass Company, operating from Indiana, Pennsylvania from 1892 to 1896.. From 1904 to 1909 - his company was called the Dugan Glass Company, creating the Diamond "D" mark for some of its pressed ware, most notably, carnival glass...It is unclear who Thomas Dugan left his glass company, but he left and the company was re-named to the Diamond Glass Company in 1913 to its closing in 1931 due to a plant fire..Many times Dugan glass is mistakenly classified as Czech Glass..
