Each week I bring you vintage early radio items. I have been collecting radios, phonographs, and music boxes for 47 years, and always have something interesting for sale. Here up for bid is this near mint circa 1918 Western Electric type SCR-57 Interphone. This was used by the fighter pilot to communicate with his gunner through the SCR-59 airplane radio. If you have the SCR-59 radio then this is a must have Western Electric item. The cockpit was very loud, so the pilot and gunner had to wear headphones to hear each other through the radio. The Interphone is in excellent original condition. All parts are there intact. The name plate looks excellent. The wood case is solid, and the original finish looks excellent. The Interphone measures 10.5 inches by 6.5 inches by 2.75 inches thick. Buyer pays shipping to 48 states. Overseas buyer pays shipping. Always feel safe bidding and just look at my 100% feedback and know your item will arrive safely.ALL OLD ELECTRONIC ITEMS ARE SOLD WITH NO WARRANTY , I CAN NOT GUARANTEE THAT AFTER SHIPPING , ITEMS WILL STILL WORK .
