Excellent passive pickup for a Jazz , Funk and Blues style. Warm round tone with a great snap that cuts though a mix easily.
I have a set of these in my own personal bass and love how easily it can can cut through.
This pickup is available on ebay with cover and the Neck match is listed under another auction
Covers are standard pattern .
Pickups are raw flat Alnico 3 magnets which can delivery a classic vintage J tone
Medium scatter wound with
42 awg heavy Formvar wire
, the scatter brings out warmth and cuts down on the 60 cycle hum that so many stock single coils have that are wound by machines.
Lead wires are vintage push back wire ,so no stripping is needed .
The measurements is 9.25K on this pickup and wound RWRP for hum cancelling when paired with my neck pickup.

uldn't be happier! 60 cycle him is much less than the orig pickups that they replaced, and the balance of both pickups is outstanding. When solo'd each pickup has its own voice which gives my bass a huge arsenal of tone variety (previous pickups almost sounded exactly the same soloed).I'd have to say that I am most blown away by the round yet aggressive tones of the neck pickup. Usually I favor the bridge pickup on a j bass, but the unique sound of your neck pickup is making me think I may have a new favorite position to play in. The bridge pickup is equally excellent, and quite different tonally. The bridge pickup gives a great midrange bite that was missing from the orig pickup that it replaced. Bottom end is tight and punchy, more so than any other bass I own, including my Rics! Your products are A+++ and unsurpassed at any price in my book, and, being that I scored these at such a terrific price I am truly grateful and appreciate. You are a true artist John and your work will be appreciated and heard by many in years to come!
