It is in pretty nice physical condition, as is shown in the photos, it does show some wear and tear from age and use. It was from a long time local radio collector and was a display piece with his collection for many years. It has a Normal knob, but then it is coated in some type of a blue layer, it is much thicker than most, there are ceramic parts for the base and insides, there is a copper spring inside and then there is some type of a brass brake type part that keeps it from turning/moving unless you can figure out how to unlock or compress it(2nd to last photo). I only see one marking on it anywhere, if it is the makers mark I do not recognize it(last photo). It is a very unusual filament rheostat, in comparison to the common ones I am used to.
