This fully assembled handy and affordable meter measures capacitor equivalent series resistance (ESR) in the circuit. ESR is a very important characteristic of capacitors greater than 1 uF. This meter makes measurements which are often impossible to check with capacitance meters. Also great for measuring very low values of resistance. Assembed Unit #2 - This is a Blue Ring Q Tester and the successor to the famous Bob Parker FBT/LOPT kit and companion to the Blue ESR meter kit. This is an inexpensive and effective way to test any high Q inductive component. It is especially useful for doing a quick check on flyback transformers, line output transformers and other high frequency inductive components like deflection yoke windings and SMPS transformers.
